Tank is its own role but it comes in two parts - offensive and defensive. You have Reinhardt, Zarya, Orissa, and the like playing defensive, but then you have tanks like Roadhog, Winston, and D.Va who contrast the protective role. Combining offense and defense meant you had someone to defend you from incoming attacks, making it possible to push as a group, while the second tank fought back and kept everyone alive by sponging damage and doling out plenty of their own. These tanks could even work well as flank

Things only got worse when players found out that they would have to grind all the way to level 55 - which is over halfway - on the Overwatch 2 Battle Pass to get access to Ramattra, much like Kiriko. Many accused Blizzard of making it so that players would need to pay for the premium pass to catch

Challenges also incentivize deviant play, which creates a negative game experience. In team games, this means pursuing goals that are different from the rest of your team. The stated objective of the game - get the most kills, score the most goals, capture the most objectives, ect. - may not align with the goals of each individual player. We’ve all seen (and been) the player ignoring the objective while trying to sniper headshots because we had a challenge for it. Both teams suffer when players are asked to do something different than the game’s objective, but the person messing up the game for everyone else is getting rewarded for

Overwatch 2 has just had its biggest week since launch. Not only did Blizzard unveil a new Hero, but we also witnessed a cracker of a match for the Overwatch League Grand Final. However, it appears that it's still finding its feet when it comes to Hero balancing, as well as the in-game store economy. Some aspects were so imbalanced that yet another Hero needed to be temporarily remo

Blizzard revealed a new Tank class Hero for Overwatch 2 called Ramattra . Giving off Indian God vibes – thanks to the slight resemblance to Shiva and with 'Ram' in his name – his backstory revealed a close relationship with Zenyatta and https://Overwatch2tactics.com/ the Omnic people. He comes with two different forms that can be changed on the fly – the offensive Nemesis form which gives him access to powerful punches, and the defensive Omnic form that gives him a barrier to protect his team. He’ll join the roster on Decembe

With so many flocking to the game now it’s free, the cracks are starting to show. I don’t know if we’ll see 6v6 return - at least, not in quick play and competitive - but whittling down the team size by gutting a tank has made Overwatch 2 inherently imbalanced, and no amount of hero tweaks will patch up the h

It was at the Overwatch League Grand Final that Blizzard announced Ramattra. This was the first OWL season since the launch of Overwatch 2, and the first one to be held in front of a live audience since the pandemic. The match itself was quite the spectacle – San Francisco Shock was one win away from the title when Dallas Fuel regrouped for a comeback and won the tournament

It's soon going to be a month since Overwatch 2 launched, and like with any class based multiplayer shooter, balancing is always being worked on. However, even though it's not been too long since launch, players are already starting to complain that regardless of updates, certain Heroes are still imbalanced and waiting periods are too long. It has also already had its fair amount of controversy, and that's rarely ever a good th

Challenges do not make games better, and the designers know that just as well as we do. When a game asks you to get three kills with a sniper rifle or win matches with a specific character, it isn’t trying to increase your enjoyment or help you improve. Challenges are nothing by hollow engagement boosters designed to increase player retention. Someone at the top of the ladder needs to see an increase in hours played month-over-month, and the fastest and dirtiest way to do that is to coerce players to complete daily challen

With how Blizzard is handling these issues, Overwatch 2 players are worried that their favourite Hero will be the next to get sidelined. Plenty are already theorising on who is next in line for the temporary chopping block, with Brigitte being the common consensus . She can create an invincible shield with the help of Kiriko – a major exploit that could potentially ruin ga

Having one tank in Overwatch has made support a complete nightmare, and it’s made some tanks completely redundant in certain modes. I’ve been playing a lot more Mercy, finding it helpful on defense especially as I flutter from teammate to teammate, frantically keeping them alive while they fend off the enemy’s push. But all it takes to stop that is a Zarya toggling her shield, walking right through all of them, killing me, and then strutting back to safety. The lone tank is busy holding the line and the DPS are busy killing the enemmacbook_air_keyboard-1024x683.jpg
