Watching seeds germinate is great activity for kids, especially when the seeds are sprouting quickly. Alfalfa is one of the easiest seeds to grow and should develop within one week. To watch the seeds germinate you can sprinkle some alfalfa seedlings on a sheet of paper towel that is damp.

What you will need:

a packet of alfalfa seeds (about 1.5g)

A small plate or saucer

Three paper towels

an air mister, or a small water jug

How to grow

Make sure to wet three pieces of paper towel and put them on top of one another flat on a platter.

Then , drain the water from the plate. The paper towel should be dampened, but the seeds should not be floating in water.

Spread the seeds out evenly on the paper towel.

To avoid the paper towel drying out, put it on a sunny windowill with water. To moisten seeds, أفضل أنواع بذور البرسيم make use of a spray bottle, or mister. Also, add water into the saucer by using a cup or small jug.

Everyday, you should check your seeds to see if they're growing.

Troubleshooting

Alfalfa is an easy to cultivate plant that will begin to be able to germinate in between 2 and 6 days. Here are some things to keep an eye on if your seeds don't germinate in this time.

Too dry. Seeds require water to grow. Alfalfa seeds absorb around their weight in water prior to germinating, making them look swollen. Seeds that are too dry won't germinate. To make sure the seeds do not float in the water, add some more to your bowl. You can also soak the seeds over night; but make sure you drain them and rinse them with fresh water before spreading them onto the paper towel.

Too wet: Seeds that are moist could cause their roots and sprouts to decay before they are able to grow. Seeds can also turn mouldy. While it's perfectly acceptable to allow the paper towel and seeds to be damp, they shouldn't be submerged in water. Every time you mist or water the seeds, rinse off the excess water.

Too hot or cold: The best temperature for alfalfa's growth is 20-25degC. If you're planting your seeds indoors during winter, put them in a warm location. You might need to regularly water your seeds should you cultivate them in temperatures that are extremely hot. They will dry out more quickly.
