Children enjoy watching seeds germinate. This is particularly true when seeds grow quickly. Alfalfa is one of the easiest seeds to grow and should grow within one week. Sprinkle a little amount of alfalfa seeds onto a moist newspaper towel and watch their seeds sprout and grow.
You Will Need:
A small packet of Alfalfa seeds (about 1.5g).
a small plate or saucer
Three pieces of paper towel
an air mister, or a small water Jug
How to Develop
Set 3 sheets of paper towel on a dish.
Then, drain the water out of the plate. The paper towel should be damp, but the seeds should not be floating in the water.
Sprinkle the seeds evenly on the towel.
To stop the paper towel from drying out, place it on a sunny windowill and fill it with water. It is possible to use a mister or spray bottle to dampen the seeds or gently add a small amount of water to the saucer by using either a small cup or jug.
You should check your seeds daily to see how they're developing.
Troubleshooting
Alfalfa seeds are easy to grow and will sprout within 2 to 6 days. Here are some things to keep an eye on if your seeds don't germinate in this period.
Too dry. Seeds require water to develop. Alfalfa seeds absorb around their weight in water prior to getting germinated, making them appear swollen. Seeds that are dry are not able to germinate. Make sure to add more water to your plate until the seeds are wet but not floating. It is also possible to soak the seeds overnight. Make sure you drain them and rinse them thoroughly before placing them to a towel.
Too moist Seeds that are wet can cause their roots and sprouts to decay before they are able to develop. Also, it is possible that mould can begin to develop around the seeds. While it's okay for شكل بذور الملوخية the paper towel as well as the seeds to be damp however they shouldn't be submerged in water. Remove any excess water from the plate every time you mist or water the seeds.
Too cold or too hot Alfalfa grows best at 20-25°C. If you're cultivating your seeds during winter, keep them in a cool place inside. It may be necessary to water your seeds more frequently if you grow them in temperatures that are extremely hot. They'll dry out more quickly.
