Children love watching seeds germinate. This is true especially when seeds are sprouting quickly. Alfalfa is one of the easiest seeds to grow and should develop within one week. Sprinkle a little amount of alfalfa seeds over a damp paper towel and watch the seeds germinate and grow.
You will require:
The packet contains Alfalfa seeds (about 1.5g).
A small plate or saucer
Three pieces of paper towel
an air mister, or a small water jug
How to Grow:
Make sure to wet three pieces of paper towel, then put them on top of the other on a platter.
Drain the water from the plate. The paper towel must be damp but the seeds should not be floating in water.
Spread the seeds out evenly on the paper towel.
To prevent the paper towel from drying out, put it on a sunny windowill and fill it with water. Use spray bottles or misters to moisten the seeds or بزر الملوخية simply add a small amount of water to the saucer using an ice cube or a small cup.
Every day, check your seeds to see how they're growing.
Troubleshooting
Alfalfa seeds are simple to grow and will germinate within 2-6 days. Here are some things to keep an eye on in the event that your seeds do not germinate within this period.
Too dry. Seeds require water to develop. Alfalfa seeds absorb about their own weight in water before they germinate, and look as if they've gotten bigger. Seeds that are dry will not grow. To ensure that the seeds don't get sucked up in water, add some more to your plate. You could also soak the seeds for a few hours; however, be sure to drain and rinse them with fresh water before spreading them onto the towel.
Too moistIf the seeds are too wet their new roots and sprouts could begin to rot before they have a chance to grow. The seeds could also turn mouldy. It's acceptable for the paper towel to get wet but the seeds should not be floating on water. Every time you water or mist the seeds, drain the excess water.
Too hot or بزر الملوخية cold: The best temperature for alfalfa to grow is 20-25degC. If you're growing your seed indoors during winter, put them in a warm place. You might need to regularly water your seeds if you grow them in very hot temperatures. They'll dry out much faster.
